U9B Green Team changes name to Coyotes

In the first week of May in 2007, the U9B Green Team decided to change its name to the Coyotes. They are part of the Red Wing Soccer club. They only have eleven players, but they all agreed for their new beginning. The boys voted unanimously to change their official name to the Coyotes. It seems to fit well, considering their tenancious and cunning play!

Tampa Bay Shortens Name!

As the year 2007 was ending, the baseball players from Tampa Bay had a new beginning! They officially changed their name from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to just the Tampa Bay Rays. They wanted to start the new year off on the right foot with a shorter, more marketable name. With the new name, they had to change their logo. The picture on the top right is their mascot, and the picture on the top left is the new Rays logo.

Their original Tampa Bay Devil Rays logo from 1998-2000 looked like this:

And their original Tampa Bay Devil Rays logo from 2001-2007 look like this:

Milwaukee Admirals

The Milwaukee Admirals changed their logo from a salty seaman admiral to the admiral of a ghost ship. Their slogan along with this new logo is "Never Say Die". This new logo is cooler and more edgier than the last. It consists of a skull with a black admiral's cap with ice blue trim. Replacing the old team colors of red, white and blue will be black, ice blue and silver. They wanted their new logo to be popular with the younger crowd, and this is what they came up with.

Buccaneers Logo

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a professional football team based in Tampa, Florida. Their first team logo was designed by cartoonist Lamar Sparkman in 1976. He had to really think hard about what it could be so it would not look too much like the Oakland Raiders logo. The original logo he came up with is referred to as "Buccaneer Bruce" which is of a pirate in a plumed hat and a cutlass in his mouth. He had an orange-like face with red everything else and the pirate appeared to be winking.
Finally in 1997, the team worked with the NFL to develop a more marketable and intimidating look in order to improve the teams image. They changed their team colors as well to red, black and orange. "Buccaneer Bruce" was replaced by a red flag with a white pirate skull and crossed sabres. NEW

ALASKA SPORTS TEAMS LOGOS

The Aces are Anchorage Alaska's ice hockey team. Their logo is of a polar bear in front of a mountain landscape. They made this their logo in 2003/2004 and is still currently their logo. I personally think their logo is pretty cool !

The University of Anchorage Alaska's logo is a green and white seawolf in a yellow circle. It's a little plain to me, I think they can do a much better job. They have mens and womens basketball, cross country, gymnastics, hockey, skiing, volleyball and track and field.

The University of Alaska at Fairbanks logo is a blue A with a white polar bear in front. They are known as the Alaska Nanooks. Alaska schools do not have as many sports as most other schools, but they do have mens basketball, cross country, hockey, rifle, skiing, and womens basketball, cross country, rifle, skiing, swimming and volleyball.

ALL ABOUT SPORTS LOGOS

My blog is all about sports teams and their logos. I find it very interesting how teams come up with and decide on their final nickname and logo. Alot of time and effort goes into the process of making and creating this little drawing that depicts the image of the team for the public to view. Sports teams include their logo on either their hat or helmet, and usually on their uniform somewhere. Also merchandise will have the sports team's logo on it as well!

This is a random collection of sports logos with a good theme song to go along with!
