Conclusion

The main point I have drawn about Sports teams and their logos is that they are constantly changing. Teams update the colors and designs every so often to identify with their fan base. Some teams even let their fans choose the design of their logo. Every sports team that I have come across whether it be baseball, football, basketball, lacrosse or hockey has changed their logo at least once in the past 50 years. I think it is a good idea to keep up with new colors and even nicknames to keep the fans interested and excited. Keep in mind that team merchandise displays the logo, so when the logo changes, merchandise will change and that is what the fans like!

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are an American football team based in the Boston area. The Original logo of the New England Patriots was a depiction of the Revolutionary War minuteman snapping a football in a crouched position. Within a short period of time it was replaced with the silhouette of a Patriot's head wearing a red, white and blue tricorne hat that was nicknamed by fans "Flying Elvis".
I personally like the old logo better than the current one. I think the new one is too plain and simple whereas the old one is cartoonish and cool and even includes a football. Both logos have the same color scheme, however the new one has a star on the man's hat.
I think Patriots fans would disagree with me and argue that the new logo is the better one. At least one diehard fan does shown below. The first youtube video is probably New Englands biggest fan getting the new logo tatooed on his very own head! The second video is a clip from ABC news all about the Patriots Logo!

Oilers to Titans

The Tennessee Oilers decided to change to the Tennessee Titans about eight years ago. They are a professional football team based in Nashville Tennessee. The team moved to the state of Tennessee in 1997, and played in Memphis for one year before moving to Nashville. For two seasons the football team was known as the Oilers before changing its name to the Titans in 1999.
On Saturday, April 5th 2008, the Titans celebrated the 10th season of their logo. Team officials unveiled a new logo with the number ten to wear on the front left shoulder of their uniforms. The logo will be on merchandise for consumers to buy and will be at the LP field during the 2008 season on display.
